During the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence, Abt Global is launching our Gender Equality, Disability, and Social Inclusion (GEDSI) Framework as a part of our company-wide commitment to equity. Preventing and responding to gender-based violence (GBV) is strongly linked to challenging racism and harmful gender norms, as well as to promoting disability rights and shifting the way we respond to disability. Abt’s policies are a part of global efforts to end violence against people of all genders.
To unpack the links between gender, racial, and disability inequality and violence, Abt will convene experts and practitioners from around the world to discuss how the international development community can move toward a rights-based, anti-racist, and feminist approach to GBV prevention and response, including by making practical change to promote non-violence and increase leadership and inclusion in the GBV field.
