Bradford Lucas

Vice President, Global Projects

Bio

Bradford Lucas is an expert in international health and social marketing with more than 20 years of experience leading complex global health projects and managing large teams. His program experience includes malaria and child health, reproductive health, and HIV/AIDS, and he has worked in numerous countries in Africa, Asia, and Latin America. Throughout his career, Lucas has been recognized for his thought leadership and initiative in piloting, scaling up, and replicating new products, services, and approaches; improving processes; and disseminating best practices.
 
As the project director for the President’s Malaria Initiative (PMI) VectorLink Project, he has fostered a culture of innovation and continuous quality improvement for Indoor Residual Spraying (IRS) and entomological monitoring programs in 27 countries. He has demonstrated his ability to achieve project deliverables and raise the bar for IRS programming to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and maximize health impact. In 2016, Abt Global designated Mr. Lucas a company officer and vice president.

Prior to leading the PMI VectorLink Project, he was the project director for both the PMI Africa Indoor Residual Spraying (AIRS) (2014-2017) and AIRS (2011-2014) projects, where he ensured rapid start-up of IRS and entomological monitoring activities in 17 African countries.

Before joining Abt Global, Lucas held several positions at Population Services International, including director of reproductive health, director of new product development, and country representative in Tanzania and Zambia.
