Chris Grier, Vice President, Legal and Risk, leads the legal, governance, privacy, insurance, contracts, innovative finance, risk, compliance, and audit functions supporting corporate and program operations of Abt Australia and Abt Britain across more than 30 countries. He is also the Company Secretary of Abt Australia and Abt Britain.
Chris has extensive experience in senior roles in Australia and the United Kingdom at leading international law firms and major corporations. Before joining Abt, he was a senior attorney with the law firm Ashurst, where he specialised in international transactions and regulatory advice across Asia Pacific for government, financial institution, corporate and not-for-profit clients. Prior to that, he was a senior corporate counsel with the public company Aurizon and an attorney with the law firm Norton Rose Fulbright.
Chris has a deep commitment to diversity and inclusion and to supporting organisations empowering people experiencing disadvantage. His pro bono clients included the Aboriginal Legal Services and Orange Sky in Australia. His volunteer experience includes senior mentoring roles for the University of Queensland and the Association of Corporate Counsel.
