She has deep experience in health systems strengthening, being part of the design and initial implementation of a health sector reform in Peru between 2012-14. She has worked with high and mid-level authorities, international cooperation and with local healthcare providers.

Nassim Díaz Casado is the chief of party for the USAID Local Health System Sustainability Project (LHSS) in the Dominican Republic (DR). He is an expert in project management with extensive experience in health systems, strategic management, and international development programs in the health sector. Diaz has more than 15 years of experience working as a project director for multilateral organizations, including the World Bank and International Development Bank. He has been chief of party of the USAID- Health Finance and Governance (HFG) project in the Dominican Republic and country program manager for the USAID-SHOPS Plus project, in addition to consulting with international organizations and public and private entities on health and social security systems.

Miguel Pulido
Chief of Party, Local Health System Sustainability (LHSS) Project, Colombia
Miguel Pulido is a dentist with more than 20 years of national and international work experience promoting and implementing social, financial, and economic policies in the health sector. He has worked domestically at the Colombia Ministry of Health (MOH) with several departmental health secretariats and internationally on health projects with the Inter-American Development Bank and United Nations Development Programme in Panama, Guatemala, and Honduras. He was also the director of the US-based non-governmental organization Te Doy Foundation, working with HIV orphans in Africa.

Chief of Party, Local Health System Sustainability (LHSS) Project, Jordan
Mona Abdeljawad is the chief of party in Jordan for the U.S. Agency for International Development’s (USAID) Local Health System Sustainability (LHSS) Project. She has more than 20 years of experience managing development projects in health and development. Her educational background is in human rights law from the University of Oxford, and she has focused on disability rights. Mona participated in drafting the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD) and served as the assistant secretary general of the Higher Council on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities.

Dereje Dengela
Principal Associate, PMI Evolve Project, Ethiopia
Dereje Dengela is an epidemiologist and entomologist with more than 25 years of experience in planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of malaria control programs. He has extensive managerial experience, having supervised as many as 94 professionals. He has held senior positions with the government of Ethiopia, worked on projects for the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), and served as a national malaria program officer in Ethiopia. He supported the Ministry of Health of Ethiopia in mobilization of financial resources from donors, particularly the Global Fund. Dengela has authored or co-authored more than 30 publications in peer-reviewed journals.

Anagonou’s expertise is in managing indoor residual spraying (IRS) and insecticide-treated nets projects.

Her work includes sustainability planning, domestic resource mobilization, resource tracking, costing, efficiency analyses, public expenditure reviews, and strengthening of financial management systems. She has provided technical support to promote universal health coverage (UHC). Jones has experience facilitating the engagement of a wide range of stakeholders and building critical partnerships. She also has experience generating evidence to inform suitable health financing reforms and strategies with the goal of extended access to quality health services.

Mbogo Bunyi is a development professional with more than 20 years of experience working in global health and private sector engagement in East Africa. As a technical advisor, he has worked closely with national and sub-national governments, corporations, and development partners to improve health outcomes. He has facilitated key public-private partnerships to overcome obstacles to private-sector participation, building stronger health markets for family planning and HIV in Kenya, Rwanda, Tanzania, and Uganda. Bunyi has supported innovative solutions in health financing, private investment for social enterprises, and health care policy.
