Rx and Illicit Drug Summit

The opioid crisis doesn’t have just one solution. Over the years, partnerships and collaborations have proved critical to saving lives, so Abt has helped federal, state, and local agencies and other stakeholders in their efforts to prevent opioid misuse. We approach the opioid epidemic with a multidisciplinary lens, using rigorous methods and data analysis to promote evidence-based solutions.

The Rx Summit is the largest, most influential event addressing the opioid crisis, where strategies are shared and put into action. The summit attracts a wide range of multidisciplinary stakeholders and focuses on the latest strategies for prevention, treatment, and recovery.

Join Abt’s experts at this year’s Rx Summit and  be sure to visit our poster presentation during the conference. Links to our top opioid misuse research, prescribing resources, and management tools can be found below.

Developing Clinical Quality Improvement Measures Aligned With the CDC Guideline for Prescribing Opioids for Chronic Pain

An Important Strategy to Support Safer Prescribing in Primary CareAfter the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) released its Guideline for Prescribing Opioids, Abt helped the CDC develop quality improvement measures for opioidprescribing and management. The process involved a literature search, online survey, semistructured interviews, and a group discussion. The goal was to develop metrics that were important, valid, timely, useful, needed, and low burden. One critical challenge: the limitations of data that electronic health records capture.
