SA086: Integrated, Innovative, Resilient – How We Can Leverage Health Infrastructure for Integrated Disease Response and Epidemic Management
Public health practitioners know that siloed, disconnected disease management approaches will not build prepared and resilient health systems. There are technical, financial, and logistic efficiencies to be gained by exploring ways in which epidemic response, disease management, and preparedness planning can be integrated to optimize outcomes. USAID's Blueprint for Global Health Resilience calls for collaboration and integration across all projects and sectors; the World Health Organization has called for whole of society responses and pandemic readiness, and PEPFAR has highlighted the importance of integrating disease management to ensure ongoing provision of ART and other essential services.
This session covers the crucial value that integrated solutions can bring to health systems of the future. From interventions and models for integrated disease management to community-based solutions and approaches to health system resilience - panelists will share their global and country-specific experiences both advocating for and implementing coordinated, integrated epidemic response.
